According to the USA Today Ad Meter, the race for the Super Bowl Ad race was won by the Dogs.
The top three rated ads all featured dogs.
The Doritos commercial where the big Dog bribes the cat owner was the top rated rate.
The Volkswagen ad where the overweight Dog gets fit took second and the Sketchers ad where the Boston Terrier in Dog in sneakers wins the greyhound race finished third.
The rescue dog in the Bud Light that worked tirelessly to supply a thirsty crowd with beer finished 6th.
In 4th place was the Doritos commercial where the Baby grabs the bag of Doritos sling shot style, the M&amp;#38;M/Mars with the &amp;#8216;Naked&amp;#8221; Brown M&amp;#38;M was 5th.
The Godaddy commercials escaped the bottom 5, but were down towards the bottom on the list.
For the record The .Co commercial was ranked lower than the Godaddy.com cloud commercial.

    <title>New gTLD Application Monitoring? Now?</title>
    <description>Frakes on a Plane - Jothan Frakes&amp;#039; weblog (my personal opinions and not necessarily those of my employer)New gTLD Application Monitoring? Now?
Source:CircleID: Top-Level Domains

Why in the world would any company sign-up for a &amp;#8220;New gTLD Application Monitoring Service&amp;#8221; when ICANN intends to publicly post all applications on May 1st?

Domain Name Watching and Trademark Watching Services make perfect sense when new registrations and applications are being submitted and granted on a daily basis. I think that we can all easily agree that trying to understand new domain name and trademark registrations without an automated service would be nearly impossible.

And when ICANN eventually moves away from these discrete application rounds, I will be the first one to recommend an Application Watching Service.

However, as all new gTLD Applications in this first round will be publicly posted to the ICANN website on May 1st , it would seem that reaching for Ctrl-F would be the quickest and easiest way to search for exact- and near-matches.

Additionally, the applications that are likely to cause the greatest concern are probably those that consist of generic terms being applied for by a single company which intends to restrict ownership to only itself. So looking through the list of applications will be critical &amp;#8212; you may not know what is of concern until you actually see it.

Be wary of companies offering new gTLD Application Watching Services at this time. Given that the number of submitted applications will likely be between 1,000 and 1,500, companies should be able to easily review the full list on May 1st, and quickly identify applications of concern.

Two CEO from the domain space have been named by Klout.com one of the top 50 &amp;#8220;Most Influential Execs on the Web&amp;#8221;
Richard Rosenblatt, the CEO of Demand Media, Inc. is listed as number 34 on the list with a Klout Score of 56.
Bob Parsons, the Executive Chairman of Godaddy.com is listed as number 40 on the list with a Klout Score of 53. (It should be noted that Klout incorrectly still has Parsons listed as the CEO of Godaddy).
Both Richard and Bob&amp;#8217;s Klout score are higher as that of the CEO of Group On, LinkedIn and Zynga.
Also making the top 50 list is Esther Dyson one of the most vocal opponents of the new gTLD program who made the list at number 46 as the CEO of EDventure Holdings.
It took a Klout score 51 to make the Top 50 list.
The number one spot went to Pete Cashmore the founder and CEO of Mashable with a Klout score of 89.
Oprah, Rupert Murdock, Richard Branson, Mark Cuban, Steve Forbes, Michael Dell all made the list.
Mark Zukerberg of Facebook did not.
In the spirit of full disclosure, and for the record I have a Klout score of 47.

Source:The Domains

According to a Press Release today Cyberplex Inc. (TSX:CX),  subsidiary, Tsavo Media  will have to repay  Yahoo! approximately $4.8 million over a reasonable time period&amp;#8221; for sending low quality traffic to Yahoo advertisers.
&amp;#8220;Yahoo! is retroactively charging Tsavo for what Yahoo! is now saying was actually low quality traffic, ranging back over many months during 2011.&amp;#8221;
&amp;#8220;While the Company and Yahoo! remain in discussions on this issue, the Company now expects that Yahoo! will enforce its decision to charge back this amount citing its right to do so pursuant to the terms of Tsavo Media&amp;#8217;s agreement with Yahoo!.&amp;#8221;
&amp;#8220;Cyberplex also announced today that its President, Ted Hastings, has provided his resignation.&amp;#8221;
According to TechCrunch.com, Tsavo Media  operates a network of roughly 300 websites and blogs which generated the traffic.
&amp;#8220;&amp;#8216;The company?s network of Internet publications includes crappy websites like LumaGardening.com, ThinkFashion, TechSerious, WealthyGeek, Twirlit, DiscoverFame and KidGlue.&amp;#8221;&amp;#8221;&amp;#8230;

    <title>What domains American Airlines and others bought last week</title>
    <description>American Airlines, The Nature Conservancy, New York Life, and other end user domain buys.
I tried to do last week&amp;#8217;s end user domain sales report during DOMAINfest, but some whois servers didn&amp;#8217;t like my mobile connection. So it&amp;#8217;s a bit late, but hopefully just as useful.
Let&amp;#8217;s start off with sales from Afternic.
American Airlines bought the name of its Chairman, TomHorton.com, for $1,000. This was a smart move given that the company is about to battle its unions in bankruptcy. Its public relations firm owns TomHortonSucks.com.
Nashville Wraps, which sells wrapping paper, gift bags, and other packaging supplies, paid $1,700 for GiftWrap.net.
New York Life bought ExecutiveBenefit.com for $1,510.
Dance entertainment producer Break The Floor Productions bought DanceNation.com for $7,500.
Precious Moments, Inc., maker of collectible figurines, paid $X for YourPreciousMoments.com. for $1,088.
Ontario rock climbing gym Climbers Rock Inc. bought KeepClimbing.com for $1,521.
Used bicycle retailer Cycle reCycle of San Jose, California bought BicycleBlueBook.com for $6,500. It&amp;#8217;s safe to say the company is working on a used bicycle price list.
The Wind River Visitors Council bought WindRiver.org for $2,788.
Lawyer referral service MyLawsuit.com picked up PatentReview.com for $2,250.
Bloomington, Illinois dentist Mike Milligan paid $1,200 for SnoreStoppers.com.
The Nature Conservancy bought PlanetChange.com for $2,625.
These two sales were at Sedo:
Social Finance, Inc., which hopes to shake up the world of student loans, upgraded its domain from Sofi.org to Sofi.com for a five figure sum (the sale price was retracted).
Virgin Music (EMI Group) paid $8,000 for TheNight.com at Sedo. Any music fans out there know what this is for?

    <link>http://www.domainmeme.com/main_sportsnews/35875/Do-you-Know-what-your-Reputation-is-Online--Review-your-Links-and-Find-Out.html</link>
    <title>Do you Know what your Reputation is Online? Review your Links and Find Out</title>
    <description>It is very important that you know what your online reputation is. Many consumers are quite diligent in doing such an investigation before they buy something online. It doesn?t matter how good your product or service is or the price? if they can?t find good information from other consumers about your business they won?t buy it. There is just too much of a risk that it will be a road to disaster.
Therefore, one of the goals in the world of e-commerce has to be creating and securing a very good reputation. To find out what is going on with it right now, go to Google because it is the #1 search engine that people use today. Type in your company name and see what comes up.
Go through the first few pages and see what is listed. However, I encourage you to go at least five pages deep to get a great deal of information. This type of digging helps you to see what people have to say about you. Chances are you can also find out if there are some solid links to your website or not being identified in that search engine for potential visitors.
During this type of search, you are very likely going to come across some profiles. Some of them may be social media profiles due to the explosive use of it online today. However, they won?t have links in them, just your company name most of the time. To help you with improving reputation and ranking, get in touch with the various site owners and see if you can get a link put in there as link text to your business name.
Back to the concern of your reputation, type in your business name and the reviews behind it. There you will see what consumers have to say about you. If there are negative comments, then try to get in touch with those consumers and address their issues. Learn from what is being said too. For example, if you have complaints about customer service not getting back to them vamp up that area of your business to make it stronger.
Many of the sites with reviews will also allow you to make comments. That is your opportunity to make amends. Take responsibility, thank the individual for sharing information, and then state how you plan to correct the problem. This type of improvement on your part will hold plenty of clout with those considering buying something from you. It is a great way to improve your reputation.

    <title>Challenge of Being a Domain Flipper</title>
    <description>Most of my business comes from flipping domain names. I buy domain names in private or at auction, and I try to sell them at a profit as quickly as possibly. I subscribe to the churn and burn method of domain sales, aside from those names I keep for development.
One of the most difficult aspects of being a domain flipper is deciding whether to quickly flip a domain name or hold out for a higher offer. To illustrate this, let&amp;#8217;s say I bought a domain name for $20,000 and received a $30,000 offer to sell it a week later. For most people outside the domain industry, a 50% ROI in a week&amp;#8217;s time is outstanding, especially when we&amp;#8217;re talking about making $10,000 profit. However, if I feel the domain name is worth $50,000 minimum, I would likely pass on the offer.
The issue with passing on a $30,000 offer in the hopes of selling it for $50,000 is that the higher offer may never come. Additionally, the $30,000 offer may not be there days or weeks later should I decide that I want to sell the domain name. It&amp;#8217;s easy to make an assumption that a domain name is worth a specific figure, but getting a financial commitment for that number is a different story.
The need to maintain liquidity is always in consideration, too, because I need to have enough cash on hand to pay bills and make other acquisitions as well. This is critical because if I have inventory that can&amp;#8217;t be profitably turned into cash, my business is sort of dead in the water. I always need to be investing to keep growing my business.
If you buy and sell domain names, how do you cope with this challenge of being a domain flipper?

    <title>Another Way to Use End User Lead Generation Website</title>
    <description>I previously discussed how I used the Estibot lead generation tool* and how I used LeadRefs.com to find buyers for domain names I was looking to sell. I also discussed how you might go about using the tool to find a buyer. I want to share an &amp;#8220;alternative&amp;#8221; way to successfully use tools like these to sell domain names.
When you are considering the purchase of a domain name in the aftermarket (like via auction or a private sale), you might want to plug the domain name into the tool to see if there will be adequate leads for a sale. I don&amp;#8217;t know what number would be considered adequate, but I would think 20+ leads means you&amp;#8217;d have a solid chance of finding a buyer.
You might also want to see if those similar domain names are developed and who owns them. If a company understands that a descriptive, keyword domain name will have value to them, they might also want to buy this one if you are able to buy it at a good price and re-sell it.
Once you find some of these leads, you might take a next step and review a domain name sales history website like NameBio to see if any of those other domain names are listed as past sales. This can give an indication of when and how much the owner paid. You can and should do a Whois History search to see when the other domain names were acquired.
While it&amp;#8217;s great that another company values keyword domain names, I believe there is a difference whether they hand registered the name(s) several years ago or bought it in the aftermarket. I think the later is more indicative of a company&amp;#8217;s willingness to spend money on domain names now.
Keep in mind that you don&amp;#8217;t want to email potential buyers before you buy the domain name. I don&amp;#8217;t think that&amp;#8217;s a smart move, especially because they might try to buy the name on their own. Additionally, I don&amp;#8217;t believe you can use either tool for unregistered names, so you can&amp;#8217;t use it to find buyers for names you want to hand register.
*Note: I took the first article down after comments were expressed that I made it sound too easy while my success was predicated on the quality of my domain names.

    <title>Godaddy Set Sales Record For Super Bowl Sunday</title>
    <description>Frakes on a Plane - Jothan Frakes&amp;#039; weblog (my personal opinions and not necessarily those of my employer)Godaddy Set Sales Record For Super Bowl SundayAccording to a press release this morning, &amp;#8220;Go Daddy also broke its own records for sales on a Super Bowl Sunday&amp;#8221;
It also claimed it commercial featuring a QR code produced the &amp;#8220;best mobile website traffic &amp;#8230; ever.&amp;#8221;
Godaddy also says that .Co &amp;#8220;enjoyed a significant surge in .CO domain name registrations over the weekend and throughout the live broadcast&amp;#8221;.
Godaddy admits in the PR that &amp;#8220;Critics Panned their Super Bowl Ads,  but Go Daddy Sees RECORD RESULTS anyway&amp;#8221;.
Here is some other info from the press release:
&amp;#8220;Go Daddy&amp;#8217;s &amp;#8220;Body Paint&amp;#8221; ad accounted for a tremendous Internet spike during the Super Bowl as reported by Akamai Technologies, a company that monitored Internet usage during the Super Bowl.&amp;#8221;
&amp;#8220;As a result, Go Daddy is serving more customers than ever before, rocketing past a historic 10 million customer mark during the Super Bowl broadcast.&amp;#8221;
&amp;#8220;The achievement came courtesy of two Internet-Only commercials that prompted viewers to visit the Go Daddy website and a first-ever Super Bowl &amp;#8220;technology play&amp;#8221; involving an on-screen symbol geared for smartphone users.&amp;#8221;
&amp;#8220;Go Daddy engaged smartphone users by putting a Quick Response (QR) Code on its Super Bowl commercial, &amp;#8220;Cloud.&amp;#8221; and &amp;#8220;receive discounts for Go Daddy&amp;#8217;s cloud-based products and services.&amp;#8221;
&amp;#8220;Initially, some criticized the move, saying the QR Code looked unusual on the screen, but the gamble paid off as more viewers than ever visited GoDaddyMobile.com.&amp;#8221;
&amp;#8220;We decided it was worth the risk to play to all the people watching the game and using their smartphones simultaneously,&amp;#8221; said Go Daddy Executive Chairman and Founder Bob Parsons. &amp;#8220;I&amp;#8217;m thrilled we made the decision. Viewers scanned the code and as a result, Go Daddy set an all-time sales record for our mobile site.&amp;#8221;
&amp;#8220;Prior to the game, it was estimated smartphone users would check their devices ten times during the game. Go Daddy has used the technology in other television ads, but a QR code had never been used in a Super Bowl commercial by any advertiser.&amp;#8221;
&amp;#8220;The QR Code technique debuted with the star who has been in more Super Bowl commercials (10) than any other celebrity ever, Danica Patrick.&amp;#8221;
&amp;#8220;People think of Go Daddy as a fun company and we do like to have fun with the Super Bowl ads &amp;#8212; filming the &amp;#8216;Cloud&amp;#8217; with the new Pussycat Dolls was a blast and I think that came through in the commercial,&amp;#8221; Danica said. &amp;#8220;When you boil it down, Go Daddy is an innovative company, they&amp;#8217;re willing to try new things, but at its core, Go Daddy is all about taking care of customers &amp;#8212; it&amp;#8217;s the best of both worlds and it&amp;#8217;s the real secret to Go Daddy&amp;#8217;s success.&amp;#8221;
&amp;#8220;This is Go Daddy&amp;#8217;s eighth consecutive Super Bowl advertising campaign.&amp;#8230;

    <title>GoDaddy says it saw record Super Bowl Sunday sales</title>
    <description>Two GoDaddy.com Super Bowl commercials drive new sales record.
The results are in&amp;#8230;
Regardless of what you thought of GoDaddy.com&amp;#8217;s two Super Bowl commercials yesterday, they appear to have had the intended result for the world&amp;#8217;s largest domain registrar.
According to the company, yesterday saw its highest sales ever for a Super Bowl Sunday. This is the company&amp;#8217;s eight consecutive year advertising in the Super Bowl.
The company also says that .co saw a tenfold increase in registrations. That&amp;#8217;s an early number from last night. Last year .co reported a 35x increase compared to a typical Sunday. Although I doubt .CO Internet pays for its ad with immediate registrations, the Super Bowl ad goes a long way to building its brand. Don&amp;#8217;t be surprised if proprietors of some new top level domains try this tact in future years.
GoDaddy was the only advertiser to include a QR code in its ad, and the company says it received record mobile traffic. I think this was a smart move given that many people are away from home when they watch the Super Bowl.

    <title>Best Buy promotes ?phone freedom? in Super Bowl, but not new domain name</title>
    <description>Company protected brand with domain purchase but doesn&amp;#8217;t use it yet.
Best Buy&amp;#8217;s Super Bowl commercial yesterday promotes what Best Buy calls &amp;#8220;Phone Freedom&amp;#8221;, although it doesn&amp;#8217;t call it that by name in the ad.
But it helps explain why the company paid $2,588 to buy PhoneFreedom.com last month.
I received an email promotion from the company today that touts phone freedom:

At the bottom of the email is a link to BestBuy.com/phonefreedom.
Paying such a small price for PhoneFreedom.com certainly makes sense, even if the company doesn&amp;#8217;t plan to push traffic to PhoneFreedom.com. It&amp;#8217;s good for brand protection.
That said, I&amp;#8217;m baffled by the decision to not at least forward PhoneFreedom.com to the Best Buy site. I think someone dropped the ball here.

The wildly popular Shazam App, which normally tells you what song you just heard on the radio or TV or at a bar or disco.
Today however with the Super Bowl it goes a lot further.
I used Shazam last night during the 1st NFL Honors Award show broadcast on NBC last night and instead of getting the name and artist of one of the songs played on the broadcast, I got somthing that looks very much like an App called: Super Bowl XLVI: From Indianapolis.
One of the many things you can do with the &amp;#8220;app&amp;#8221; is &amp;#8220;rate the commercials&amp;#8221; as they air.
It&amp;#8217;s a way you can make your voice heard on Godaddy.com commercial and the Godaddy .Co commercial as they air.
During the game and some of the commercials there will be other opportunities to Shazam the Super Bowl.
Enjoy the game&amp;#8230;

    <title>GoDaddy and .Co take center stage with Super Bowl Commercials</title>
    <description>Over 100 million will watch GoDaddy Super Bowl commercials tonight.
The world&amp;#8217;s largest registrar along with the .co top level domain will get a lot of attention today.
That&amp;#8217;s because GoDaddy will air two Super Bowl ads today, including one about the .co domain name.
The first half commercial stars lingerie model Natalia Velez getting the body paint treatment from Jillian Michaels and Danica Patrick to promote .co. Velez was unveiled in person at DOMAINfest last week.
Many people wondered if .co got the &amp;#8220;bang for its buck&amp;#8221; that it expected after a similar GoDaddy commercial last year. I think we have our answer now.
The second half commercial features the Pussycat Dolls.
GoDaddy pre-released both commercials this year. It has pre-released ads in the past. This is a good strategy for the company, especially since it releases &amp;#8220;continuations&amp;#8221; of each commercial on Super Bowl Sunday. In other words, even if you see the commercials ahead of time you end up returning to view the continuation after the ad airs on TV. And the company doesn&amp;#8217;t really care when you view its ads, as long as you end up on its site (and hopefully make a purchase).
Of course, pre-releasing also lets your competitors get some pre-game buzz, such as with this Name.com spoof featuring Denver running back Willis McGahee.

However this was a significant drop on the 2010 calendar year when there was $101,438,953 in sales, a drop of $17,006,988. However it should also be noted that the $13 million sale of sex.com was included in 2010 figures.

    <title>Super Bowl Sunday Updates ? GO PATS!</title>
    <description>I think my favorite day of the year is Super Bowl Sunday, especially when my New England Patriots are playing. I don&amp;#8217;t ever miss a Pats game, even when I&amp;#8217;m on vacation. Anyways, here&amp;#8217;s a brief Super Bowl Sunday update.
- I don&amp;#8217;t know about you, but it&amp;#8217;s been strange seeing some Super Bowl commercials released prior to the game. When my team isn&amp;#8217;t playing, I enjoy watching the game but particularly enjoy seeing the special commercials companies make for the big game. It&amp;#8217;s a bit disappointing to see them ahead of time.
- Keeping with the Super Bowl theme for a moment,  I learned that Doritos held another contest to allow people to submit videos for one of the company&amp;#8217;s Super Bowl commercials. One of the five finalists is called &amp;#8220;Doritos crash the dog park,&amp;#8221; and they are using DoritosDogPark.com for the commercial url. If this one is the winner, it will be interesting to see if DogPark.com gets any traffic. I wrote an article about the Doritos Dog Park commercial on the DogPark.com blog.
- The .ME auction is underway at Sedo, and it ends on February 9. I probably won&amp;#8217;t be bidding, but I will be following along just in case I see any good values there.
- Nice to see that premium domain listings will be on Go Daddy during the Super Bowl. As I recall last year, they took down premium listings, which was a bummer for domain investors, since that&amp;#8217;s likely the highest traffic day of the year. Feel free to report any GD premium sales tomorrow. Would be neat to see if there&amp;#8217;s a lift.
- I like Guy&amp;#8217;s comment on Shane&amp;#8217;s post yesterday &amp;#8211; &amp;#8220;talk about the nursery more too.&amp;#8221; Running a business is in Shane&amp;#8217;s blood, and I think we can all learn a lot from his experience managing employees, inventory, and a brick and mortar business. Shane &amp;#8220;gets&amp;#8221; the domain business, and I wish him all the best as he focuses on his domain business.
- One final note. I am not sure if I mentioned it yet, but I am a big Patriots fan, despite having lived in New York City for the last 10 years. Let&amp;#8217;s go PATS!

    <description>
The tradition of spoofing Go Daddy&amp;#8217;s .CO commercial has continued in 2012. Name.com posted this humorous video of Denver Broncos star running back Willis McGahee in a spoof of Godaddy&amp;#8217;s &amp;#8220;Body Paint&amp;#8221; Super Bowl commercial.
With all due respect to McGahee, I prefer the Godaddy commercial starring Godaddy girl Natalia Velez.

    <description>Frakes on a Plane - Jothan Frakes&amp;#039; weblog (my personal opinions and not necessarily those of my employer)BuyDomains.com Beats Back UDRP on Solanum.com
Source:The Domains

Buydomains.com, just beat back a UDRP on the domain name solanum.com
Here are the relevant facts and finding from the three member panel:
&amp;#8220;The Complainant is a Mexican individual who founded a business named Solanum Laboratories in Mexico in 2003.&amp;#8221;
&amp;#8220;The Complainant is the owner of a variety of Mexican registered trademarks for the word mark SOLANUM, the earliest registered of which is trademark number 901,941 registered on September 28, 2005&amp;#8243;
&amp;#8220;At the date of this Decision, the website associated with the disputed domain name consisted of a parking page which stated that the disputed domain name was for sale and provided hyperlinks described as ?related searches? including ?Resveratrol Juice?, ?Colageno msm?, ?Energy?, ?Fusion? and ?Best Resveratrol Brand?.&amp;#8221;
&amp;#8220;In the present dispute, the Panel is satisfied that the Complainant has made out a prima facie case that the Respondent has no rights or legitimate interests in the disputed domain name based upon its submissions that the Respondent is not known by the name ?Solanum?; the Respondent neither has the Complainant&amp;#8217;s authorization nor the Complainant?s license or franchise to use the disputed domain name; and there is no relation between the Respondent&amp;#8217;s name and the disputed domain name from which any right or legitimate interest can be inferred. The burden of production accordingly shifts to the Respondent.&amp;#8221;
&amp;#8220;The Respondent?s submissions focus squarely on the fact that it was making a bona fide offering of goods or services at the disputed domain name (within the meaning of paragraph 4(c)(i) of the Policy) via pay-per-click parking directly related to the generic nature and definition of the word which comprises the disputed domain name, namely ?solanum?, a genus of plants. &amp;#8221;
&amp;#8220;In the present case, the Respondent provides a sworn statement averring that it is a professional domainer which regularly engages in the business of using domain names to display advertising links.&amp;#8221;
&amp;#8220;It also provides evidence demonstrating that the disputed domain name is a dictionary word. &amp;#8221;
&amp;#8220;Furthermore, there is neither any evidence that the disputed domain name is identical or confusingly similar to a famous or distinctive trademark nor that the Respondent had actual knowledge of the Complainant?s mark when it registered the disputed domain name. &amp;#8221;
&amp;#8220;The Panel notes in addition that the advertising configured by the Respondent to appear on the website associated with the disputed domain name (at least when viewed from the Respondent?s jurisdiction) is related to the dictionary meaning of the word ?solanum?, namely the relevant plants or extracts derived from them, and does not appear to relate to the trademark value of the Complainant&amp;#8217;s SOLANUM trademark.&amp;#8221;
&amp;#8220;In the circumstances of the present case, given that the Respondent was seeking to register a dictionary word, albeit by automated means, the Panel considers that the Respondent?s actions can be considered to be sufficient good faith efforts to avoid the registration and use of a domain name that was identical to a mark held by another.&amp;#8230;

    <description>Frakes on a Plane - Jothan Frakes&amp;#039; weblog (my personal opinions and not necessarily those of my employer)Godaddy Premium Listings Will Be Live During Super Bowl
Source:Domain Name News (DNN)

Before the 2011 Super Bowl Godaddy had been making a big push in the aftermarket with their premium listings. Unfortunately, for various reasons Godaddy did not include their Premium Listings in search results during the 2011 Super Bowl ad drive.   This meant that a user that was driven to the Godaddy site from the Super Bowl ad would not be able to see any of the Premium Listings in their search results, even for the exact-match domain.  Normally with a Premium Listing, an exact-match search for that domain displays the domain name as for sale and the price (see image at bottom)
DNN talked with Paul Nicks, head of Godaddy&amp;#8217;s aftermarket, during the recent DomainFest in Santa Monica.  Nicks confirmed with us that the technical issues that prevented these aftermarket domain names from being listed last year had been addressed and that they are prepared for that traffic surge.
It&amp;#8217;s exciting to think that the exposure Godaddy receives from their Super Bowl ads could actually lead to an individual making a sale through the aftermarket. If you like the possibilities of being able to say &amp;#8220;I sold my domain during the Super Bowl&amp;#8221;, you&amp;#8217;ve got about 24 hours to put your listings in to the Premium Listings before tomorrow&amp;#8217;s big game.

    <description>Frakes on a Plane - Jothan Frakes&amp;#039; weblog (my personal opinions and not necessarily those of my employer)WIPO Provides New Top-Level Domain Resources for Rights HoldersCourtesy of Brian Beckham from the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center in Geneva, here are a few important links with information that may be helpful for rights holders with ICANN&amp;#8216;s New gTLD program now launched and accepting applications:

&amp;bull; First, is a helpful FAQ that explains plainly the Legal Rights objection process. It&amp;#8217;s important that rights owners are very familiar with this process and are ready to respond if in the unlikely but potentially problematic situation that another entity applies for a gTLD that includes their intellectual property.

&amp;bull; Next, comes a summary explanation of the post gTLD delegation (beginning late 2012 or early 2013) rights protection mechanisms included in the program and provided for the defense of intellectual property rights.

&amp;bull; Lastly, WIPO has provided a set of links to analysis and other resources about the New gTLD dispute resolutions mechanisms.

With the May First &amp;#8220;reveal date&amp;#8221; &amp;#8212; the day that ICANN will announce all of the applicants and the strings that have been applied for &amp;#8212; approaching quickly, rights owners should be ready to respond. Reading the first article is a great place to start. Thanks to WIPO for sharing these links and this information.

    <link>http://www.domainmeme.com/main_sportsnews/35842/Search-Engine-Optimization-Tip--Effectively-Adding-Content-to-your-Website.html</link>
    <title>Search Engine Optimization Tip: Effectively Adding Content to your Website</title>
    <description>Content is very important if you want your website to be attractive to users and you want to rank high in the search engines, like Google. However, the volume of content that you have isn?t nearly as important as the overall quality of it. This is where many people make a mistake as they fail to optimize what they put on their web pages, so the miss the ideal opportunity to improve SEO efforts.
Too often though people will just plan their initial website. They have a variety of web pages and they create them and call it good. Your website should always be a work in progress so that it continues to generate new visitors for you. This will also ensure that you get plenty of repeat traffic from people that have been there before. Your site will continue to be trendy and current with new content instead of becoming boring and outdated over time.
Studies indicate that the top ranking sites on the search engines out there are those that have regular updates to their web pages. They also contain a great deal of very good content that is relevant to that their site is all about. You have to evaluate all of it from the view of the search engines. They know that if they want to be of value to the customers they have to give them the best possible experience.
This is why Google is the search engine of choice ? they offer lots of information on any subject. There is typically not any reason for a consumer of Google to go to any other search engine. They are going to find what they need high in the pages of search results that come back to them. If that wasn?t the case then they would be starting with other search engines. If you want to place well in Google, then you must continually be adding good content to your web pages.
It is a good idea to get into the habit of routinely adding content to your website. You may decide to write it on your own. However, you can also outsource to a ghostwriter that can offer you some fresh content on a weekly basis. This is a cost effective way of getting getter rankings and that will generally also increase your conversion rates. There will always be new topics in your niche that you can use to add content with. Make sure you optimize what you add with keywords that consumers will most likely be typing into the various search engines.

Companies trust VeriSign to ensure that no one is messing with their internet plumbing.

Rather than its usual .org TLD, the torrent site is now flying its skull and crossbones under Sweden?s .se country code. The swap shouldn?t be seen as a sign of weakness, said the site &amp;#8230;

    <description>Frakes on a Plane - Jothan Frakes&amp;#039; weblog (my personal opinions and not necessarily those of my employer)HuntingMoon.com Brokers The Sale Of Pornstar.com For $1.5 Million
Source:The Domains

HuntingMoon.com announced that they have successfully brokered the sale of the website Pornstar.com for $1.5 Million dollars.
This sale follows HuntingMoon sale of Eric Borgos&amp;#8217; adult domain portfolio for $1.3 Million.
Lets point out right away that PornStar.com is an operating site not just a domain and the sale included all content, affiliates and members.
The sale transaction started in 2010 and after a year and a half of payments, the buyer is now taking possession of all of the assets and plan to  redevelop the site according to Evan Horowitz, CEO of Hunting Moon.
Some other interesting facts Evan shared with us is that he along with this partner Michael from HuntingMoon, originally bought pornstar.com from L &amp;#38; H Apparel/Pornstar Clothing Company in 1999.
Evan and Michael sold the domain direct to Mallcom for the second pornstar.com transaction a few years later &amp;#8212; and, then brokered the name via HuntingMoon for a third transaction on the same domain!
HuntingMoon&amp;#8217;s founders have handled over $2.5M related to this domain.
A second interesting tidbit about this sale is the fact that the lead was generated via HuntingMoon&amp;#8217;s partnership with the GFY.com community.  Not long after the partnership was forged, did the sale happen.  Any question marks about whether the adult community would continue to buy top web properties, during a reported contraction of the adult site market, were erased with this sale right off the bat in August of 2010.
A third factoid that is of note, is that the domain was sourced by David at HuntingMoon within a few short weeks of his hiring.  So, a new member of the team brought in a $1.5M sale during his ramp-up period of his employment contract.
HuntingMoon.com ongoing AVN Internext Adult Domain Auction featuring hundreds of adult domain names is taking place thru February 9.
